TRAINING DESCRIPTION
The makeup artist training is provided by experienced, registered professionals, active in the beauty and fashion industry and trained by international makeup artist Juliette den Ouden. Our educators share their extensive experience to best prepare you for a versatile career.
With our focus on personal development, we deliberately keep classes small and supervised by two teachers. As a result, you will receive individual attention as a student and upon completion you will be widely employable in both commercial and fashion-related projects, and as a bridal stylist.

Do you possess a natural talent and a drive to invest in your career? Then after a selection process, you may have the opportunity to join the JDO Talent Agency. Moreover, we facilitate internships and intend to guide you to positions as a beauty consultant at renowned brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, and Chanel.
Cost
The total training cost for the Make-up Artist Class is €3,510. The amount consists of €3,200 tuition, which as an educational institution is VAT-free, and of €310 for the professional models which does include VAT and is therefore billed separately.
Upon registration we require a deposit of €199 as a registration fee, this will later be deducted from the remaining tuition of €3,001.
If you choose to purchase the recommended JDO Make-Up Package, see below, these costs will also be billed separately including VAT.
Tuition payment options
- If you pay in one lump sum, you will receive a 5% discount on tuition.
- Gespreide betaling in 4 termijnen van €800 per termijn via automatische incasso, deze start direct bij inschrijving.
- Spread payment in 12 installments of € 295 per installment via direct debit, starting immediately upon registration. Note: this includes administration fees.

Duo discount
If you complete both courses such as Hairstyling Class Make-up Artist Class within 12 months, you will receive a €350 discount on your second course.
Material
A good start is half the battle! For students who want to immerse themselves in the world of make-up, we offer the exclusive JDO Make-up Package.
The package is carefully put together with a variety of
essential products, ranging from powders and brushes from JDO
to foundations from Mac Cosmetics. It also contains a set of handy
tools from Backstage and an indispensable tutorial from VISAVI.
For a total amount of €995, including VAT this package offers everything an aspiring make-up artist needs. Of course, students are also free to purchase the materials themselves.
Models
You should provide your own timely models to practice on during class. Ask friends and family around you or check out our frequently asked questions for more tips.
For the men’s shoot and the final shoot JDO Academy provides a professional model which is included in the total training fee. This ensures representative photos in your portfolio, which increases the chance of publication of your work.

How does signing up work?
For other courses and trainings, such as Private Training, Hairdresser’s Visage, and Salon Training, the enrollment process is often manual. The JDO Academy team will assist you with personal assistance during your registration and preparation.

TIP: Enter “JDO Academy” on Google Maps, and it will take you to the right place in front of the door instead of the square. Please also communicate this to your models.
Do I need to arrange my own models for the class?
Yes, if you enroll in makeup training at JDO Academy, it is important that you bring a model to practice on at each class. However, for photo shoots we provide a professional model whose cost is included in the total training fee, but which we bill separately including VAT. In addition, it is essential that you also practice on models at home for your homework.
How do I arrange my own models?
- Immediate surroundings: we recommend asking your immediate surroundings first, think family, friends or neighbors. Perhaps they know someone who would also like to model for you.
- Social media post: of course you can also use your own social media by sharing a post with a call. What can help in this is to tag @jdo-academy in your call so that we can also share it on our channel (note: this is only possible if you have a public profile).
- Call in Facebook groups: there are also groups on Facebook where you can post calls that you are looking for a model to practice on. A fee is often expected in these, but it is not necessary. Be clear in your communication in this.
- Addressing people: another perhaps more challenging option is to simply approach people on the street or on the road, but we understand that this can be a barrier.
Am I entitled to student loans?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to apply for student loans because JDO Academy is a private training institution.
Are class materials included in the course or training fee?
At JDO Academy, we stand for quality and consistency in our courses. Course materials are not included in the cost. While you are not required to work with our products, we encourage you to purchase our carefully curated packages. This not only ensures a high standard during training, but also ensures that we can assess all students equally. Should you need only part of the starter package, it is possible to order products separately.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you miss a class you can make it up in another season in consultation with our coordinator.
On average, how many hours a week do I spend on homework?
Assume a homework load of 3-4 hours per week such as practicing on your own models and making sketches and mood board in preparation for classes.
Will I receive a certificate or diploma after completing the course or training?
At JDO Academy you are assured of quality and a high level. Upon completion, you will therefore receive our own JDO certificate, which we have deliberately chosen instead of an industry diploma. This is because we are proud of our CRBKO registration and the fact that 95% of our students pass. Upon completion, this will be awarded in recognition of your achievements and professionalism.
