How it works

Personal guidance + monthly practice.

Grow step by step during fixed training days in Amsterdam, with direct feedback and structure over 5 months. You follow the full JDO Method online and come together with Juliette in Amsterdam each month for the hands-on lessons.

Learn online with Juliette

Through the JDO learning platform you follow the complete JDO Method step by step. You gain access to new modules, assignments and exercises that you can follow at your own pace and rewatch as often as you like.

5 in-person training evenings + final shoot + JDO Academy Sessions with Juliette

Once a month you come together in Amsterdam for a practice-focused training evening from 18:00 to 22:00. You work hands-on on models, receive personal feedback and learn together with a fixed group of students. In addition, you take part in the same JDO Academy Sessions with Juliette as students from the Immersion and Online Guided learning paths.

Professional photoshoots

During the course you take part in two professional photoshoots: a men's shoot and a closing women's shoot. Both are published and form the foundation of a professional portfolio with which you can present yourself within the beauty industry.

Questions about Hybrid.

Can I combine the course with a full-time job?

Yes. The Hybrid Class is designed precisely for people with a full-time job, family or a busy life. You follow the online lessons at your own pace, and the in-person training days are once a month in the evening (18:00-22:00).

Do I need experience to start?

No. The JDO Method guides you step by step from the basics to a professional level. Beginners are welcome, a passion for make-up is enough to start.

How much time does the course take on average per week?

Count on 4 to 6 hours per week: 1-2 hours watching online lessons + 2-4 hours of homework and practising at home. Plus 1 in-person evening class per month (18:00-22:00) in Amsterdam.

What happens if I miss an in-person training evening?

Where possible we schedule a catch-up moment or offer a targeted online supplement. All online lessons can always be rewatched via the learning platform.

How long do I have access to the online learning platform?

12 months of full access to the JDO learning platform, with continued access to updates of the course afterwards.

Do I have to arrange my own models for the classes?

For the in-person evening classes you bring your own models (friends, family or your own network). Between classes you practise at home with your own models. For the 2 professional photoshoots (men's + women's) we arrange the models through collaboration. That is fully included in your course price.

Are the professional photoshoots included?

Yes. 2 professional photoshoots (men's + women's) are included, including the models. Both provide images for your portfolio and lead to a publication.

Can I take part if I live in Belgium or abroad?

Yes. You follow the online lessons from any location. For the 5 in-person evening classes and the final shoot you travel to Amsterdam, on average once a month.

Can I pay for the course in instalments?

Yes. The regular price is €3.200. When you pay in full you receive a 5% discount (€3.040). For instalment payments Klarna is available: at Klarna checkout you choose the number of instalments and the associated terms.

Do I receive a JDO certificate on completion?

Yes. You finish with a portfolio exam that we assess. On a positive assessment you receive the JDO Make-up Certificate. JDO Academy is CRKBO-registered, which means the course is exempt from VAT.
