Hybrid is a complete, personal course in which learning online and practising live reinforce each other. You follow the full JDO Method online on a weekly programme, at moments that fit your life, and put what you learn intensively into practice during in-person training evenings in Amsterdam. It is exactly this combination of understanding, practising and personal guidance that turns technique into craftsmanship, and gives you the confidence to work more and more independently and with more certainty.

How it works
Hands-on practice in Amsterdam, strengthened by online.
Hybrid is a complete course: the power of personal guidance and hands-on work during set training evenings in Amsterdam, strengthened by the online JDO Method that you follow on a weekly programme in your own time.

Learn online with Juliette
Through the JDO learning platform you follow the complete JDO Method step by step. Every week a new training goes online, with assignments and exercises that you do in your own time, following the programme, and rewatch as often as you like.

3 in-person training evenings
Spread across the course you come together in Amsterdam three times for a hands-on training evening from 18:00 to 22:00. You work hands-on on practice heads or models you bring along, receive personal feedback and learn alongside a fixed group.

Professional final photoshoot
You finish with a professional final photoshoot. We arrange the professional model, you create the look. The images are published and form the basis of a professional portfolio with which you present yourself within the industry.

Hybrid students in their own words.
I was already working as a make-up artist, but I often had to turn down hairstyling jobs because I didn't feel confident enough. With Hybrid I could study the techniques online and practise intensively on models during the training evenings in Amsterdam, with direct feedback. Thanks to the final photoshoot I added professional work to my portfolio right away. I now offer both hair and make-up and take on more complete bookings.
Even though I had worked as a hairdresser for years, with hairstyling I kept falling back on the same techniques and safe looks. The JDO Method gave me the flexibility to study online alongside my work in the salon, and the training evenings gave me the depth and the direct corrections I needed. I now work more creatively, faster and with far more confidence.
As a mother and self-employed make-up artist I wanted to add hair, because clients increasingly asked whether I could take care of a complete look. I followed the classes at home when the kids were at school or in bed, and I could schedule the training evenings deliberately. Now I book complete hair-and-make-up bookings and plan my own agenda.
