How it works
This is not a course you watch. From week one your hands are in the hair, you hand in your assignments, they are reviewed, and every month you are live in the group with Juliette. Wherever you live.

You start today, with your hands
The moment you enrol the platform opens and you get to work. Every week a new lesson is released with an assignment you actually carry out, on your own practice models or a practice head. You are not waiting for a school year to begin: from week one you are working.

Your work is reviewed by the educators
You hand in your assignments, filmed or photographed, and receive personal feedback from the JDO Academy educators on what you made. Not a tick and not a stock answer, but someone looking at your work and telling you what could be better, and why. That is the difference between a training and a video course.

Every month live, with the whole group
A JDO Academy Session is a monthly live online group call with Juliette and the educators: your moment for personal guidance. Not an extra lesson, but space to connect, ask questions about your assignments, get direction and keep your progress on track together with Juliette and the educators. You get inspired by students from all learning paths, each of whom started at their own time, and by students who have already finished their course. The sessions take place in the evening (CET) and are recorded, so you can rewatch them in any time zone.

Completion & certificate
Once you have completed the course you receive your JDO Hairstyling Certificate. Want your work captured professionally? Then you optionally add a professional Portfolio Shoot as an upgrade.

Reviews
As an international makeup artist, I wanted to add professional hairstyling to my services, but travelling to the Netherlands was not possible. Online Guided allowed me to learn from home while receiving personal feedback on my practice work. The demonstrations were clear, and the live guidance helped me correct details I couldn't spot on my own. I can now offer both hair and makeup to my clients.
As a mother and freelance make-up artist I couldn't travel to an academy regularly. Yet I wanted to add hairstyling, because clients increasingly asked whether I could provide both. With Online Guided I practised when the children were at school or in bed. The feedback gave me direction and kept me from repeating the wrong techniques. I now book complete bridal bookings for both hair and make-up.
I work full-time in my own salon and had no room for a fixed on-location course. Online Guided made it possible to deepen my styling skills outside working hours. Even though I work with hair every day, I discovered how much could still be gained in preparation, product choice and long-lasting finishing. I now create more varied looks and feel much more confident with photoshoots, brides and special occasions.

The same programme, three ways
You are not choosing between three programmes. On all three you learn exactly the same thing: the complete JDO Method, the same assignments, the same feedback from the educators, the same monthly Academy Sessions and the same certificate.
The difference comes down to one thing: how much time you spend together, live. Online Guided asks you to travel nowhere. Hybrid is a monthly evening in Amsterdam. Immersion is four days back to back, or nine days if you take both programmes.
